Micromax fires up the cheap tablet market with ' Funbook'

The cheap tablet market is really getting fired up with companies jumping into this lucrative market with these amazingly cheap portable tablet devices. After the announcement of the Akash 2 tablet a lot of companies have come up with tablet devices like Zync's Z-990, WishTel's Ira, Beetel's Magiq and just announced yesterday, the HCL's ME Tab U1.

To give a brief look in the specifications, The Tablet runs on the latest Android 4.0 Ice cream sandwich OS its powered by an ultra powerful 1.2GHz Cortex A8 Processor,features 512MB of RAM with 4GB of internal memory expandable up-to 32GB via microSD card. 

It has a 7 inch Capacitive touch screen with a native resolution of 800 x 400. 

Most importantly it features a Dual Mali 2D/3D Graphics processor, making it capable of playing 1080 HD playback with Adobe Flash support. It also has mini HDMI out. The form factor of the device is pretty slim too. The tablet supports 3G connectivity via USB dongle and comes bundled with a Tata Photon EVDO datacard with 1GB of data for 2 months.

Tata builds the world's cheapest house (flatpack)

The TATA group of companies have been gaining a lot of international attention, one reason being its endeavour of buying out Jaguar, Land Rover and Corus Steel, the other being building the worlds cheapest car, the 'Tata Nano'.

The latest thing that's making news from TATA is their latest project of creating the world's cheapest houses dubbed 'Nano homes'.

India is a highly populous country, only second to China and a lot of people live below poverty line. This project from Tata can help a lot of poor people not only in India but around the world. The project is aimed to provide poor families who could not normally afford to own property. Its mainly aimed to eradicate the ever growing slums in cities like Mumbai.

Getting into the details, its a project undertaking from Tata Steel. The house comes with pre-fabricated materials, including roofs, doors and windows. It's basically a kit, which can be erected or assembled. The basic house is so designed to fit in a space of 20 square meters. Materials used in the kit consist of coconut or jute cladding complete with interior layouts. The house will cost a mere Rs.32000 or 500 Euros and can be erected in a weeks time on a patch of land. There is also a larger 30 square meter house which includes optional extras, such as a front verandah and a solar energy system

India (DRDO) to Develop its Own Operating System for Security

The recent virus attacks that took place in Iran by a virus called Stuxnet which can enter crucial installations like nuclear plants and other installations has posed a great threat to countries and systems all across the world. It takes advantage from a security hole in the Windows operating System. Stuxnet is capability to reprogram the programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and hide the changes.This poses a grave threat to government and military installations. So it has become very important to create a secure operating system environment for such kind of installations.
